Exhilaration

I wrote this last fall, but just edited a few things… so I’ll go ahead and call it New.    It feels really good to be writing again.

Exhilaration

As I play in the atmosphere,

Alone with my thoughts and feelings,

Beyond all things but faith and hope,

I feel the strength in my body

As I beat my way ever higher…

And the sharp rush of the freefall…

Tears stream from my eyes

I struggle to keep them open,

I don’t want to miss a single heartbeat

Oh the wonder!

I feel so much so fast!

With heightened senses I absorb the minute tastes around me,

And the real world approaches too soon,

Too soon!
