**Holy shit ALERT: Do NOT play the linked video where children can see, or if you have a very weak stomach – it is extremely graphic**
This is only about the second time I’ve been able to sit through an expose video on factory farming… The first one I ever watched, which was only a couple minutes long and limited to dairy farming. I cried through it. Today I saw a link to a video by Mercy For Animals, narrated by James Cromwell – a look inside factory farming – and decided to see how bad it was. It’s just under 12 minutes long, and I made myself watch the whole thing.
I was newly horrified by what has become “acceptable practice” in this country (and yes, I’m sure in most other countries as well) and what the general population probably just doesn’t give a crap about… HELLO?!??! Animals are aware, sensitive, and intelligent! They have families, friends, social groups – they play games, give & receive love and they feel pain.
WAKE UP PEOPLE! It’s our responsibility as ‘civilized’ adults to inform ourselves and, once informed, to make intelligent responsible decisions about how to care for this planet and it’s inhabitants. God put on here to caretake the place, not dominate and subjugate it. As far as I’m concerned, anyone who can become informed… and yet still contribute to the horrifying practices of factory farming deserves the same treatment as the animals seen on these videos. Veganism IS a choice, and it IS NOT hard to do!
I repeat, do NOT play this for children!! Any adult who can bear to see this should watch, INFORM yourself!
Farm to Fridge video
I’m not a poster waving, crowd-joining, crazy activist… (though some people feel like they can make a difference that way, more power to ‘em, it’s just not for me), but I DO stand for my beliefs – publicly when I can – and having been introduced to this commentary – I just have to pass it on. Just don’t forget I warned you it’s graphic.

On a much, MUCH lighter (and mushier) note:
Tomorrow I’m posting about Valentines’ Day treats!!!! I got a bit ahead of the game (tried to anyway) and did some of my prep over the weekend (including a little of this!), so I have some stuff to post already but I’m gonna make it a Pre-V-Day post tomorrow, so am saving it for then.
Muh mornin’s come seriously early, so this momma’s headed to bed – looking forward to tomorrow!
